Over the course of my 25+ year career in software, I have continually been at the leading edge and have found ways to be a part of emerging trends. This has included, cloud and PaaS native architectures, IoT systems, Edge computing and analytics and more. I have been in an architect role for the past 10 years at various companies and I have remained hands on because I value technical ability and don't want to become outdated. Additionally, in the past 5 years, I have been growing my capabilities in the crypto/web3 space and feel like I could provide value in a role that involves web3 development, but currently, my strongest skills are architecture design and cloud-native backend development.
Dell Technologies
August 2021 - Present
Drove cloud-centric innovation by co-architecting Dell’s first managed edge computing platform, integrating NATS and OpenTelemetry for scalable orchestration of remote endpoints. Spearheaded a major redesign of platform services for AWS, leveraging Lambda, EC2, VPC, and CloudWatch to enhance cloud-native performance and reliability. Led the technical design of Azure-hosted retail solutions, using ARM templates to streamline and standardize cloud deployments. Also contributed to team growth and technical leadership, mentoring engineers and guiding research in emerging technologies like quantum computing, AR/VR, and digital twins.
Web3 / Crypto
May 2020 - Present
Skilled in Go and Solidity, with hands-on experience building an auction platform for ERC20-based bids on ERC721 tokens. Proficient in smart contract development and testing using Foundry and the Sepolia testnet, with familiarity across platforms like Alchemy and Helius. Contributed to the launch of multiple tokens in collaboration with Web3 communities, and maintains a strong understanding of on-chain liquidity mechanisms and MEV strategies.
Insight
May 2017 - July 2021
Led the development of innovative industrial IoT solutions, including a real-time safety monitoring system with Intel using OpenVINO and RTSP video streams. Co-created Microsoft’s flagship open-source Oil & Gas reference implementation, leveraging Azure IoT Edge and IoT Hub to process telemetry from field equipment. Designed full-stack Azure cloud architectures to support scalable edge-to-cloud data pipelines, integrating custom modules, databases, and analytics tools. Played a key role in pioneering Microsoft’s first sponsored IoT Edge project for Oil & Gas, which became the sector's reference architecture, while also training client teams to independently manage edge deployments.
Telular
August 2012 - May 2017
Pioneered one of the earliest end-to-end IoT messaging systems on Azure, leveraging Event Hub, Stream Analytics, and other PaaS components before IoT Hub existed. Modernized legacy systems by re-architecting a VB6 messaging platform into a scalable .NET solution, significantly reducing costs and increasing performance. Built automated Azure deployment pipelines using Octopus Deploy and PowerShell, and introduced CI/CD and modern SDLC practices to streamline development. Mentored teams on the Microsoft tech stack, enabling adoption of agile methodologies and service-oriented architecture across the organization.
