Right after graduation, I had the fortune to work for a new team on a new project at Morgan Stanley’s commodity department. I had to learn and adapt quickly so that I met the standards of the codebase. I taught myself Scala and the dialect used inside the firm. I read as much as I could on internal posts and blogs from Senior Engineers. Within 2 weeks of my orientation, I had my first PR ready. I helped my project manager design the backend data structures and was tasked to learn the Gui framework and to create the Gui prototype. We were able to deliver the minimally viable product on time, which exceeded expectations and received great feedback from senior IT managers and stakeholders of the project. For my work, I was nominated by my project manager and received an award for new recruits
