VRTES
August 2015 - Present
I was in charge of developing what turned out to be one of the leading VR parachute simulators. We have been working on it since 2015, and I am proud that one of the versions of the simulator was used at the leading parachuting conference earlier this year, PIA, by the world’s leading parachute navigation training company for both civilian and military markets, Flight-1. Their premium high-end hardware harness was running on a custom version of our software. Another relevant display of our simulator was at the Paris Olympics, where it was used as a location-based entertainment. Both events were rated as highly successful by our partner companies respectively. My responsibilities were full stack development (with a slightly more focus on the backend than on the frontend), architecture suggestions/implementations, optimizing the app to work on various VR rigs, as well as high-end desktop PCs. I was also in charge of making a video streamed version of the app, so that it can work on lower-end systems that cannot handle rendering all the 3D data. Additionally, I have implemented: two multiplayer modules: server and peer-to-peer full physics algorithm for the flight model, optimized for VR to reduce motion-sickness dynamic content loading system using Addressables and CDN servers full back-end user management system with a payment portal all kinds of video/audio effects, shaders and some 3D modelling
